You know, updating DS or DIM really freaks me out. The only thing I keep thinking is what changed and what isn't there or doesn;t work any longer.
I:ts sad thinking that way, but unfortunately its hoI feel/

I do software support as an actual job IRL. I am never the first to update anything.
Probably not best to be the last to take the plunge, either.
Ha! In my past, i had to manage a group of roughly 30 to 40 mission critical computers and I was always the first to update. As long as I read the documentation and had my backups in place, i have never been afraid of a good update. Computers and programs are not appliances; they are constantly patching and improving. I had no problem telling people that if they did not keep their computers up to date, they would be blocked from the network, getting a stern conversation fro our boss and maybe fired.
...just had the IM update last night. The only choice I was given if I didn't update was working offlne,
Due to the location of my PC, I can't update online at all, the spot is bad for Wifi (no signal, blanketed by thick brick walls) and no cables ar possible as it'd have to run through the main traffic areas in the house. Net result, I use a memeory stick or my tablet as intermediaries. Inconvenient in one way, but conveniet too, because it means I'm the one in charge of the decision to wreck the installation, not DIM.
Regards,
Richard
Problem is DIM will not run in online mode if there's a new version available.
I haven't had a DIM update for a while, I would suspect if there was a reques last night (and you haven't been leaving DIM closed or disconnected for a few weeks) that there was a local issue confusing the version check.
I had a recent DIM update. My version says 1.4.1.96. I don't really worry about DIM updates - They're too important to Daz operations for them to fail miserably. And no, I really don't want to be proven wrong.
I add all stuff manually. Love to have control over it.
