Can we add features to the Gallery and Forum for 2026?

So maybe we’re here- fighting for our space in the artworld. Right? It’s CG bumping against Blender/Unreal/AI/// ..

And somewhere in this battle, it’d be nice if Daz Studio Proper gave us some tools to fight back with.

Repair the gallery make it super easy to post images from your gallery in the forum.

  1. Add social media tools like a share-button that can share your Gallery image directly to your social media (probably too late now for Instagram).
  2. And there could have been widgets to share an image or a flip-able link to the gallery.
  3. You can also go full Daz Promotion and add the “To create art like this, install the FREE Daz Studio today!” and add a little link to the bottom of the shared image.
  4. Users like cool points. Add a like counter to posts on the bottom or simple icons like a thumbs up or Daz-based icons. Stats matter. Image viewed X times would be great.
  5. Add more Social Media tools like something that turns a bunch of gallery images into a short for YouTube/Facebook.
  6. Link accounts so sharing in the Daz Gallery also connects and posts to…..
  7. Gallery Profiles could also have subscribers or followers. And when you pop on the gallery, you would see a notification counter with any uploads for the artists you follow.
  8. Add user controls to the gallery, like hold comments for moderation. Notify new comment or activity summary.
  9. Make the gallery address related to the user’s name. Daz3d.com/gallery/user/MyNameHere

In conclusion, I think the Daz user base is an awesome resource for turning more people on to Daz.

    Yes I agree.

The forums as well as the gallery could really use a refresh!

Your 7 and 8 points is what I want thr most. I feel bad when I see an old comment someone made, but I didn't know about it, until much later when I went back to check.
  • I would put a “like” yes on this post, but the forums are missing that common functionality wink.

While we’re asking, I’d also like to see the forum post editor updated. It’s missing some common keyboard shortcuts, for example (like control-shift-K for add link).

    1) What would be super cool for me is if all the "Render Library" directories one has in DAZ Studio would work like a localhost DAZ3D.com Gallery server. You then edit the pages to customize it, with the little blurb so you can make up a story, or your motivation, or technical approach to creating the image, and also, the rendered image page alloow you to add DAZ products used links to DAZ Store product pages to basically function like online DAZ Gallery functions for us now. The change being you can click the local publish or unpublish button on the page into your localhost DAZ Studio "Render Library" gallery to put directly in your remote DAZ3D.com DAZ Gallery. That would be so convenient.

    2) And while we are at it, keep DAZ Studio and it's products relevant and competive by then integrating the localhost hosted DAZ Studio 6 Alpha "Render Library" gallery with two types of AI image generation. a) The DAZ3D.com AI image generation service modified so that we can feed it our locahost DAZ Studio 6 Alpha "Render Library" images to guide AI image creation on the DAZ3D.com AI iimage generation site. b) Feed the localhost "Render Library" image to ComfyUI or some other localhost AI iimage creation tool as aninput/mask/... to guide AI image creation (Think Control Nets & Qwen-Image-Edit and so on.).

    3) So now with those, DAZ 3D will have created and integrated the means to make guided image creation using to most modern digital techniques. It will only work better and better as DAZ increases the realism of it's models, nVidia it's ray tracers, and the various AI image generation tools the ability to guide what they are generating and their own realism.

Furthermore, conceptually from a design standpoint, the work is already 90% percent done for DAZ 3D, they only need to look look at it's own DAZ Studio Galllery code, DAZ Studio 6 Alpha code, DAZ 3D AI image generation code, and several 3rd party localhost AI image generation tools for the existing 90% (actuallly much higher than 90%, already done!!!) and write & test the tools to integrate that functionality into DAZ Studio. Not saying it's a one month man hour work order, but it's definately not an extreme amount of work DAZ needs to implement those things.

Don't get left behind DAZ, rather than letting AI eat youir lunch, make AI share it's lunch with DAZ.

    10. AI tool lists all the DAZ store products you used. (it's a tedious job and I always forget some items ! lol)

If we're asking for wishes that are highly unlikely to be granted, I'd rather see DAZ first fix its wiki section and documentation pages, beginning with finally updating the now nearly 10 years' out of date User Manual, which ws written for DS 4.6, only addresses the no longer supported 3DL renderer, uses the 12 year old Genesis 2 as the most up to date base figure, and was written long before Iray, Filament, DForce and Volumetrics existed... not to mention failing to explain dozens of other "now critical for basic use" functions like geoshells.  I've lost track of how many people I've reccomended DS to who have subsequently dropped it like a hot potato when they discovered just how utterly useless the documentation now is, which is just DAZ walking a goodly percentage of new users straight out the door.

...as to the forums  Have the forums search routine recognise "strings" when searching by topic to streamline the operation

Also add options for search parameters like date range, member names, by thread or by individual post.  I remember way back when I first started here such options did exist.

    No.

Agreed. None of the AI talk was something of interest.

There was one small interesting idea. Being able to submit renders in Render Library to the Gallery directly from within Daz. I don't use the Render Library tab at all (and rarely remember the Gallery exists), but an upload function at least had utility. Frankly, an Open in external editor (GIMP in my case) would also make it possible I'd open the Render Library view at some point. But this is about the online Gallery not the Render Library, so I've digressed.

  • @Cybersox: I absolutely agree. A manual that explains every function is a necessity. I've recently been using Blacksmith3d and it's such a pleasant change to have a description of each function in the manual. And, in a few cases, an example. Regards, Richard.

    No.

It's OK for you to not use such should they decide to do something similar, and others too, but I will gladly use such. Whether DAZ will integrate such relatively easy to access functionality available to them, I have no idea. It's worthwhile though, maybe RiverSoft or another PA will do so.

I just want a way a better notification system when you respond to a comment. I think many questions are never resolved because the original poster never receives a notification that they had a response to their thread. I've had countless PAs tell me this regarding product support. So basically the forums are worthless to me these days, they are nothing but a way to vent but nothing is every resolved here.

Anything important I use google AI to ask now. And I've learned more in the last few months using AI to tutor me in Daz studio and Blender than I learned in the last 10 years. I never thought I would warm up to AI, but as a tutor, there is no comparison, its like having a 1 on 1 mentor.
