Wasn't it allowed at one time for the artist to be on different stores but just not with the same products?
I don't know if it's a farewell or a "see you on greener pastures", so we'll just wish you all the best for any future endeavour.
Original and unique voices and styles is what makes this creative niche so interesting and special. Your skills, creativity and commitment are at base of your success and they will always be with you, no matter what you do, all the best!
Yes, PAs can sell where they want, it's just the products sold at Daz that needs to be exclusive.
the problem with selling elsewhere is they cannot sell products with HDmorphs and dforce strandbased hair
Oso3D products have much of the latter I use a lot
though admittedly not often simulated so an editable mesh version could be an advantage
Yeah, I struggled a bit trying to figure out how to convey the information. Sorry about that confusion. ;)
Great that you are still here and posting in the forum.
@Ainm: To me this is a very convincing point, which explains to me why a PA might close down his shop when starting a new career, as a varying extra income can trigger a new tax rate. Many thanks!
Sorry to see you go. I loved the fox, which helped me a lot in a project, and would have spend more on your products over time.
That may still happen elsewhere. Good luck.
Sorry to see you go as well. I have some of your fur shaders and all the Reynard & Reyna foxes. Thanks again with your help getting them to work with my crochety, annoying old computer.
I don't get that logic and beg to differ. There are write offs for rooms used, often 25% or rent or a mortgage interest, 25% of electrical bills, Computers equipment etc ... etc ... More beneficial to have an additional home business stream of income.
Edit: Hubby and I worked since the 2000's worked at a fortune 500 company (marketing) who supplied business vehicles and gas cards . Our home based business (photography) allowed us owned vehicle write offs and so so much more, lowering our tax payables.
we can only speculate
I do hope he sells elsewhere
but
if Oso3D has chosen not to share his reasons that is his business
@ArtAngel: In Germany at least, the tax rate depends on your income. Sometimes only a few dollars seperate you from the "nextt level", leading to a higher tax rate, which in the end might then lead to a lower net income, although you earned more.
@WendyLuvsCatz: To me this wasn't about Oso but it was the first really convincing argument for totally taking off your products from the market in general, therefore I was very grateful for that idea. In this case it is indeed mandatory to do so.
In the US most increases in income only lead to a nominal tax increase but some changes in income at special boundary points can knock off your socks off with the tax increase that $1 of higher income into that boundary point gives you.
Much luck with your future endeavors sir. Your works were literally one of a kind and interesting.
Oh, that's such a shame to lose you here! You've produced so many great works that I was able to acquire and make use of. So sorry to see you go.
Best of luck to you in your future endeavors. I'm going to miss you around here.
Best wishes and thank you for your amazing products!
as far as i can see their other store is still open
RawArt,
There's no denying the creative economy has been undergoing a lot of upheaval. As far as livelihood as an artist is concerned, this bit of news today about weekly basic income may be a break in the dark clouds overhead for the 2000 artists eventually chosen ... or maybe not much. As I understand it, you'll have to be an artist based in Ireland. But with this follow up to the 2022-2025 pilot program, it looks like some form of universal basic income has become feasible. Hopefully Daz PAs get to reap the benefits.
Cheers!
Well, that was *not* the way I was hoping to see the most wanted part of my whishlist get way smaller.
Warning wouldn't have helped me, at least, just hadn't had the money.
You do great work, hope whatever you're doing next goes really well.
Goodbye and good luck! Thank you for your wonderful products and your service to the DAZ community.
I'll miss you, Will! You've always been such a positive force and a big help to others! I hope whatever you do in your future will bring you joy! Much love to you, Will!
Hi Oso, just saw your post and am flabbergasted and saddened to see you stepping away. Fwiw, I've always appreciated your knowledge and willingness to help other PAs, along with your kind and courteous manner. Know you'll always have my respect and admiration and I will miss your voice in the PA discord. I wish you nothing but success going forward.
will there be any way to purchase any of the daz content you've made going forward? I had a lot of your stuff on my wishlist and was hoping to pick it up when I had the chance next
also, will you be posting art anywhere? I imagine you've got other art you do besides daz stuff, I would love to follow you on whatever platforms you're on
As much as I love Oso products and own a truckload of them, and remember how helpful and respondent his former posts were, after 3 pages of repies from buyers and little to no response from OSO who is being very active in the forums, I feel like this is a cat and mouse thread. The cat lurks and replies randomly with nothing meaningful. So disappointed. As someone eho has spen hundreds on your products I find this post unacceptable.
@Oso3D Edit: spelling errors . . . yes you bet some may be here . . . so disappointed in the response vs OSO forum activity (yes I screen shot it) . . . I feel this is a blantant disregard/disrespect for buyers . . . expected more. Won't follow. Buys done. Oso you need to say something that matters. Like I am moving here . . . or done with 3D. Do not leave people hanging. You started this thread for what purpose? What is the point of starting a fire and forget thread you vacate
there could be a non disclosure agreement involved here
I would like to know too but if it cannot be revealed, I like his products too much to cause alienation
done that with too many PAs who's stuff I liked for many TOS breaking reasons in the past
nobody comes out unscathed
My deviantart gallery is here: https://www.deviantart.com/willbear
I've begun to post there (I had stopped about 6 months ago)
I have begun selling content elsewhere, but even if it was allowed I don't think it would be appropriate to advertise another shop here at Daz; this is a Daz forum.
