I've tried everything, unparented, fit to head, fit to character, all the sliders.  I really love this hair but obviously its not usable like this

Are you using it on a Genesis 8/8.1 Female character?

I had this issue with this hair recently. IIRC, I was adding it to a tall character, and when I reduced the height modifier on the character it moved into place as the slider moved to the default position. I managed to fix it but can't remember how, but it may have involved adding it to the character reduced to the default height and then moving the slider to the character setting, or maybe an adjust rigging on the hair itself. It was something along those lines, I think.

Okay I decided to try this out with a couple of other characters.  Works fine on plain old genesis 8.  Works okay on other characters with a bit of adjustment.  Doesn't work on my originally posted character no matter what I do.  I will have to scrap that hair for her and find something else.  Apparently her head is either too big or too oddly shaped.  Appreciate the input everyone.

FWIW, I run into problems similar to this occasionally since all of my characters are non-stock. I haven't figured out why, or how to reliably fix it.

Thank you!  While I'm not happy it happens to others I am happy to know its not just me lol

I do feel like I should be able to unparent the hair and move it wherever I want.  But that doesn't work.

Unfortunately the so-called dForce hairs, which I think this is, won't cooperate. Sorry you couldn't get it work with the character you wanted. And

The main problem is if the hairs are growng directly from the figure mesh, if they are growing from a skullcap or the like then it is possible to do more with them.

I will find other characters to use it with, I've found another hair that will work for what I need for this character.  As always, thanks for the help!

You might apply the hair to Genesis 9 and then apply the character. It could be that will allow it to sit in the right spot to begin with. Potentially
