Suddenly I can no longer load genitals ( all Anatomy ) onto a character... all characters are affected...

I've tried re-importing the metadata and reinstalling the genital plugins, but without success!

please Help

I've never seen such an issue before... even if you didn't select the character, the genital figure could've been loaded into the scene but just not fitted to the character ~~

With the character selected, make sure you load the genital wearable preset... not any material preset or scripts.

What is a genital plugin ?  Have you checked DS log ?

Which tool is checked in the Tools menu? If it is one of the geometry or figure editing tools that will stop GeoGrafts from grafting, try selecting the Universal tool and see if the issue goes away.

Right ~ better well describe your issue. If you mean the genital figure cannot be correctly fitted / conformed to the figure (sort of floating...), press Alt Shift + U.

THANKS @CROSSWIND for the tip about the keyboard shortcut....

  • I'm having a similar problem. It only began when I upgraded to Daz studio 6. I can set the genetalia but when I try to change the skin it just says that there was an error reading it. I do have the basic one from Daz itself and still keeps coming up with the same error message. When I try third party genetalia like "Golden Palace" or anything else it does the same. I keep getting an error message that pops up. I didn't have a problem at all prior to getting Daz studio 6. I was stuck on Daz 4.6 for a long time and never had that problem once.

Are you using actual materials for the genitalia, hierarchical materials meant to be applied to figure + genitalia, or a script included with Golden Palace? In the last case there's a good chance the script needs to be updated for DS6, check if there's an update available.

Umm I had to look up how to do that. Sorry for the late reply. I'll add some pictures. Hopefully it can be read. Thanks in advance. Like I mentioned before the actual genetalia does load in. It's just when I try to copy the texture from the character that it displays that there is a problem.

I'm still rather new to Daz even though I've been using it for about 6 or so years. Would I have to re-download the asset again and re-install it? I sent of few pictures on another reply to you can see the error and DS log. I just don't have a clue what the log is actually trying to tell me. Hopefully the pictures can be read. Thanks.

It's the issue that old copy material scripts doesn't support DS 6.

You can go to the forum of Renderotica, Product Support page of Meipe, the vendor of this product, find the thread "Copy Material Scripts for G9 and G8 for Daz Studio 6" (on the 1st page). Use the scripts for DS 6 to copy materials.

That appears to be WIndows, in which case you can use the Snipping Tool to take better screenshots (or Alt PrtScr to put a screenshot of the current aplication on the Clipboard for pasting into an image editor).
