Why Can't I Use Instances as Light Sources On a Light Group Canvas?

Do you follow me?
Take Gothika by Candlelight. There's a ton of instances, all of them act as light sources. But just try to assign them to a node group for a Light Group canvas. Can't do it.
An Emissive Canvas is NOT a substitue. I struggle to understand what one would actually use that for, it has no detail only blobs of light that illuminate nothing.
Am I really that far out on the fringe in my workflow that this is only a problem for me?

I found an old post of mine with the solution I used. However I did not try this in the latest DAZ Studio:
But maybe this can help you: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/6383551/#Comment_6383551
Thanks for that. That's pretty complex. I don't use LPE generally as the maths make my gums ache. But I will certainly look at your example and see if I can incorporate. The fact that it CAN be done, suggests that it should be part of the Light Groups workflow as that is part of Daz's specific implementation of LPE (? i may have this last bit wrong, but nothing else I've seen about LPE talks about this).

After looking at it, its not all that complex. In fact, helps me grasp LPE a lot better. Allow me to reiterate my thanks. This will let me solve an issue that has bothered me for a very long time.
Glad you found it useful!
