Issues with Mesh Explosion during Simulation

Problem 1: Mesh Explosion & Software Freezing
During the simulation process, I encountered an issue where the clothing mesh "explodes" and becomes severely distorted, as shown in the attached image. This eventually causes the program to hang/freeze.

Problem 2: Low GPU Utilization in NVIDIA Iray
I am experiencing an issue with rendering performance. When using NVIDIA Iray, my CPU usage spikes to 100%, while my GPU usage stays around 30%. I have already configured the settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel to prioritize the GPU, but the issue persists.

System Specifications:

  • CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 265K

  • RAM: 32GB DDR5

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti (16GB)

DSD 4? 50x0 cards cannot be supported in Iray in DS 4 - you need to use the DS 2025 alpha for rendering (aside from baking any Mesh Grabber modifiers to morphs, if you aren't a Premier member, your scenes should open as long as the content patyhs are set the same).

On the simulation, is it an item made for dForce or an item you converted? Are you using the supplied simulation settings, if there are any? Are you starting from the default pose or have you memorised a different pose, and does the fgure pass through itself at any point on the way to the final pose?

What simulation type are you using, Current frame (from memorized pose) or timeline animation?

Try to post an image of what the final pose in the simulation is with sim data cleared.

It can be a limb passing through another bodypart causing it.

Or it could be a hair and clothing colliding.

Impossible to tell when we don't know what the scene look like.

In my experience watch when the moment the cloth intersect with each other, or get pressed by body parts too much, like arm pit. That's usually the culprit.
You could use timeline to simulate, so you can change the pose at certain keyframe so no body parts pressing the cloth.

Multiple layer of cloth ussually causing the explosion too. you could disable the simulation for certain cloth and let the rest play.
