Daz can not see any of the assets???

Recently I had to format my ssd where my system was, so I had to reinstall Daz, My entire asset library is ion the E drive Which wasn't touched, all of my assets are still there in the exact same spots, but now when I try to open any scene that I made before the format none of them are working propperly, when I try to load any single asset I just get an error saying that "the files listed below could not be found" and all that loads are grey boxes in places where these assets should be.

I don't know what to do about this? Please help. How do I tell Daz where to look for these asets because I know that they are still there.

  • I downloaded an asset and placed it in it's own library and it loaded in just fine, but taking into account that I have about 6 - 7 TB of assets redownloading all of them will take a long time and this problem shouldn't be happening, I am certain that there is a simple solution to this problem.

Did you make sure to point Daz to the proper location of your directory? You will need to do the same thing in DIM if you use it

  • How do I do that?

For Daz Studio look in Edit > Preferences > Content > Content Directory Manager and look under Daz Studio formats as well as Poser formats, if you are using old content.

Amd edit the Path if relevant.

In DIM clcik gear icon > Advanced Settings > Installation

  • Ok, I fixed the issue, the way I set up my file structure, I had my Main Daz 3D Library folder adn then inside that there was a bunch of smaller librarys sorted by asset theme like sci-fi or medieval, I just had to tell daz to look in those instead of the one big one, just go 1 level lower in the file structure. Thank yall for the tip.

    You're welcome.

Just be aware that you don't have nested libraries, i.e. a library that contain other libraries. That might cause trouble.
