Chromatica (Daz Dragon 3 Retexture project)

It has been a hot minute since I've been here lol

 

I am currently picking back up my DD3 Retexture project, only this time doing it right and making all the scale textures from scratch.


So far this is what I have in the works (I am still very new to texturing), all renders are simply demos of the new textures and are not a final product

I am hoping to at least make 24 different color morphs for this project, each with and without markings. There will be textures for the horns and claws also!

    Same here. I have only just migrated to DAZ Dragon 3 from the Millenium Dragon (yes, I try very hard to maximise the use of my assets), and am learning my way around it. I have the standard texture pack, but it's quite elderly and there are a lot of images that use the textures, so they feel quite familiar.

    Update: I will be working on colors this week or next week so if you want to suggest colors, feel free to toss em here! Also sorry for going quiet, been really busy with life and personal projects so this has been on the backburner

    For colors, it would be good to look at existing Dragon 3 skins and do "what's missing." I looked through my own product library and I don’t see any desert/yellowish-beige sand colored dragon skins.

    The existing Dragon 3 characters sometimes take inspiration from real life animals like lizards, snakes, and even sharks.

    Back again! Currently doing another look test again. Currently reworking textures again (the original DD3 Wing membrane texture is being used as a placeholder until I retexture the wings with a better version) This isn't the final result and I'll be desaturating the colors a bit so they won't be so eyestraining, also fixing up the countershading on the wing shoulder. I messed up on the lighting with this but I'm trying my best to make something good

    Oooo yeah! Definitely gonna do that for sure! I'm looking at Poison dark frogs, birds, etc to make some nice designs. I definitely have plans to do more reds, yellows, blues, greens, brown, purples, and pinks.

    Making the blue version more unified so cutting out the bright yellow for now. Currently in the process of drafting the beige/sandy brown version
