Fibermesh eyebrows cast unwanted shadow - any solution?

Fibermesh eyebrows for my G8 character cast unwanted/ugly shadows, depending on the lighting.
Is there any solution other than rendering the area a second time without the eyebrows and doing the rest in photohop?

There is an greyed-out option in the parameters tab (for the eyebrows) called 'Cast Shadows', it's set to 'On'. But setting it to 'Off' doesn't help and it still casts shadows. Why is this option greyed out and not working?

  • Lights are set up for both iray and 3delight, with properties that are not relevant to the current render engine hidden. Presumably you have Show Hidden Properties checked in the pane option menu>Preferences and sos ee the 3Delight shadow type setting.

Which fibremesh eyebrows? Literal fibres should cast only the correct shadows, if those are unwanted you would need two passes or to make the light source larger so that the shadows blurred out.
