As a complete Noob, how is new Daz2025 rollout going to affect me?
Hello,
As a complete Noob, how is the Daz2025 rollout going to affect me? I've always been interested in this community and artistry and am getting into it as a hobby. I know pretty much nothing starting out and have no work progress and never done a single render yet. So, will the new rollout kill my purchased files, will all my files work, do i need to do the backup of Daz 4.....? So many questions. If anyone can give direction, it would be much appreciated.

Plugins won't work in DS2025, they all require a new version for DS2025 (as least recompiling against the new SDK, but more work might be needed depending on the plugin)
For scripts it depends, some work as is and some require a new version.
Depending on how much work the new version requires, some vendors might offer it for free, some may require purchasing the new version. Some won't get a new version at all, because the vendor is not there anymore or simply isn't interested in creating a new version.
You can have both DS4 and DS2025 installed on the same system, so it's possible to keep DS4 for when you want to use some script or plugin which doesn't work in DS2025.
Thank you. I only have a few Plugins, Measure Metrics, Carrera, Hexagon and maybe one more and several Character HD's that list as Plugins. I don't have any Scripts other than purchased products that have Scripts in them, that I have found. I went ahead and did a backup of DS4, just in case. Looks to me like it really won't affect me much, I guess, other than having a few products not working. Lot to take in just starting out and not knowing anything.
