Create a new morph with different max value from existing one.

So I have a morph A, and I want to apply it at 125%.

I can simply remove limits set it to 125% and is all good... but it bugs me somehow.

I basically want to create a morph B where its 100% equals to 125% of morph A.

Are there some simple steps for this?

  • In the simplest case, export at 125%, use a morph loader to import that as a new morph. But of course you will then need to do the same with any corrective morphs, and reconnect them, and with rigging adjustments.

It is a face only morph so nto sure if it even has any corrective morphs. Is there a way to check?

Click the gear icon on the slider>Parameter Settings, then look in the Sub-Components tab (if there is one) in the bottom half of the dialogue. A face is likely to have both corrective morphs and joint adjustments, to make it play nicely with expressions.

It did have like a million rows of ERC Add somethign but I did a test and put two G8 figures next to eachother one with the new parameter and one with original.

Run a few different expressions and posses and as far as I can tell there is no difference.

Original morph was made by FaceGen and then also went thorough morph splitter to fix eyes issues, so it probably has some junk in correctives anyway.

Next question, how do I turn this into a proper morph avalible to figures so I can save it in a Shape preset?

  • File>Save As>Support Assets>Modifier Asset (not Modified Assets). The Author and product names in the options dialogue will be used as folder names in the /data/figurepath/Morphs folder, you can select which content directory to use from the drop-down at the top (I would use one that you back-up, since this is your own modification rather than something you can just reinstall).

Thanks Richard! All seems well s far.

For anyone else reading this pror to exporting switch resolution of model to Base and zero any default morphs that figure seems to load like eyelashes.
