Eyes rendering completely black (SOLVED)

This isn't the black spots issue as the character is at world origin (0,0,0). And this affects all characters in this DUF. But I have no clue why their eyes are completely black. I've deleted the Eyes and readded them from base anatomy. I've used these figures many times before without issue.

I don't know, but here are some things to consider:
If you open one of your old scenes that used to work fine and that use the same characters, do the eyes in the old scene render black now, too, or are they still OK? If the old scenes are OK, can you spot any differences in the shader or materials that are on the eyes in the Surfaces pane? Are you using the same material presets that you used before and the similar lighting (you didn't accidently apply 3Delight materials or something.)? The skin looks pretty flat and dull in the screenshot.
I see that your screenshot is an Iray Preview. Does a full render come out with black eyes, too?
What version of Daz Studio are you using?
Is your graphics card supported in that version of Daz Studio (5000 series NVIDIA cards are not supported in DS 4 versions.)
Does your graphics card driver version meet the minimum requirement for your version of Daz Studio? Did Windows update replace your NVIDIA graphics driver with a Windows version that might not be appropriate?

  • Solved. Render Settings had 2 in max path length. Once I reset that parameter the eyes worked. No idea how that got changed. I need to check a few of my scene subsets for stray render settings apparently.

I have a 4090. And I did download the december studio drivers the other day but didn't install them yet. I'm running the november studio drivers at the moment/

Good catch. I'll try to remember that max path length for the future. Thanks for letting us forum users know what the solution was.
