buttons and zippers convention - men vs women's clothings

edited December 2025 in The Commons

I have come across some clothes which have been modelled without regard to the real world conventions, and may end up looking silly when worn on the wrong 3D figure gender, but never mind, we're all on a sliding scale of genders these days anyway....

Shirts : men's buttons are on the right side, women's buttons on the left side

Trouser zippers: men's zippers are accessible from the right, women's zippers from the left.

For reference when modelling and choosing clothes for 3D persons...

That's one of the things that makes an androgynous base character like G9 so useful. Clothes can be shared so hyper-realistically between the genders and it is made so easy to search for male clothing. It does, however, mean my huge male hunk can easily find a bikini to wear.

    Regards,

    Richard.

You have listed one of the main grips many of us have. While many real-world women wear male clothing without worrying about buttons, zippers or whatever (we need pockets in our clothes), we do want our 3D guys to have clothes that were designed for a masculine body.

Esha and Riversoft Art have released products to mirror geometry that seems tailored for fixing these kind of problems.

Excuse me but I still think a man's "junK" will fill a bikini bottom much different than a woman!

Needless to say there would likely be a bit of exposure.

I think richardandtracy message was in jest, not to be taken seriously.

OK, I'm a bit slow on the uptake today.

  • some moobs need a bra more than the feminine counterpart
