is there any chance that version 4.24 of DS will be made to run natively on an Apple M Chip? The benefit of this would be that if there are scripts that will not work in the new alpha version of DS, a Macintosh user could use the script in version 4.24 of DS, and then save the scene, and reopen it in the new alpha version, and of course, later in the new full version of DS?
Otherwise, when Apple Drops Rosetta 2, Which is probably going to happen in about another year, then all the scripts that will not work in the new version of DS, will not be available to a McIntosh user.

And, by the way, poses will not be affected, will they? All of the poses in the present 4.24 version of DS should work in the new alpha version, and final version of the new DS. Is that correct?

No, they won't be able to make 4.24 Apple Silicon Native, it uses an older version of Qt that doesn't support Metal, to the best of my knowledge. It's the reason we couldn't have Filament prior to the Alpha.

Just read that in OS 27, coming next year, Apple is dropping support for Rosetta. This means that unless there is a version of DAZ Studio that can run on one of the Apple Silicon M Chips, DAZ Studio will not run on a McIntosh. so I really hope that we will soon see a version of DS that runs directly in OS26.

You misread a bit: MacOS 27 will still have Rosetta 2, but it's the last version to have access to the full version of Rosetta 2.

Rosetta will continue to work as a general-purpose app translation tool in both macOS 26 and macOS 27.

But after that, Rosetta will be pared back and will only be available to a limited subset of apps—specifically, older games that rely on Intel-specific libraries but are no longer being actively maintained by their developers.

Considering that Apple usually provide security updates up to three years after the initial release, someone forced to stay on MacOS 27 should have access to security updates until around September 2030.

Data, like Pose presets, should be compatible yes. The odd product that uses scripts, or very old poses etc. that used scripts, may be another matter.

Split to its own thread since it is not about the DS 2025 Alpha

Yes, but the year after OS 27, will have the release of OS 28. I'm not going to be "forced" to hang around on OS 27 just for. DAZ Studio. If there isn't a real working application for Mac users by then, I'm just going to take a hiatus from DAZ Studio.
