A weird one with keyboard and DS 4.21.0.5

Ok, yes - I KNOW 4.21.0.5 is an old version!

For no reason that I can think of, a a fair few keyboard shortcuts seem to have been, well, 'deactivated'. For example: Ctrl-N no longer activates the File> New option, Ctrl-L no long is the preview light toggle, the Del key no longer deletes things (such as selected scene item). I am sure there are others I have yet to find or norice. Ok, just having checked it seems that EVERY keyboard shortcut is gone. I'd hazard a guess there's a configuration fil that maps the key bindings or something similar - can some nice, kind person (or even a complete and utter rotter!) point me to a solution, please?

Partial success - I used a saved layout and that brought back the keyboard shortcuts, but the scripts/saved actions have now gone!

Try Window>Workspace>Customise and use the button at the bottom to Import then select Actions and one of the default layouts.

Thanks, tried that but the Scriptys menu (I think it was) is still AWOL ... I'll have to try and remember the things I'd put there!

Scripts will be in Custom Actions (for the actual commands, they should be listed under Custom on the left of Window>Workspace>Customise if they have not been forgotten) and Menus. Unfortunately they are cusom so reimporting one of the default layouts won't help. If you haven't previously saved your layout do you have a back up of the AppData folder?

I probably have, but ... I suspect from too long ago. The main thing was to ghet the keyboard shortcuts back.
