I've seen an interesting trend in my Advent Offerings.
I've seen some great bundles that I couldn't afford to buy all at once. I wishlisted the individual items of those bundles.
Now I'm getting advent free offers for items that are not matched. I get an offer for textures for an outfit I haven't bought.
Oh well, it is one less item I need to buy to finally get the bundles.
Knowing how this works, I started filling my Wishlist with DO after last Christmas to be ready for this one. I have around 90 DO ranging from Genesis 9 to Genesis 2 (43 Genesis 8 to Genesis 2, about 10 environments or props). Yet so far, I'm mostly being offered items not on my wishlist and some of those items are ancient (Michael 4). Guess I'll try dropping a few more items in my wishlist tonight.
Freebie: $23.95 sku 66xxx, cheapie: $21.99 sku 88xxx
Aarggh! First day I didn't get offered a wishlisted freebie - it was a texture for an outfit I own, but not an attractive one (SKU 60xxx and little detail to it). I hadn't realised my wishlisted DOs had dropped below the 60 mark. I'll have to got on another hunt for more DOs of the right age/price to add in.
Freebie SKU sku 82xxx and cheapie sku 87xxx, both worth $21.95 ($15.37 with 30% discount for DAZ+ members), both from the wishlist.
It's like a lottery, every day the anticipation and surprise of which item will be randomly chosen and then the joy or disappointment if it's not the item you were hoping for.
well I added more because it's steadfastly ignoring the 30+ cheap old DAZ originals I already had
That's the spirit! Fill your wishlist with all the DOs so that you can still have fun with the calendar.
So far, all mine were from my wishlist, so not much disappointment. Would I have liked some other items? Probably. But all the stuff on my WL is the stuff I don't mind getting.
Sounds like there might be a lower SKU cutoff or something xD On a serious note, I don't think I saw any reports of anything under 50XXX SKU, but it doesn't mean people aren't getting them offered.

And another data point (I don't think we need them anymore, but it's still fun): today's freebie was $15.95/SKU 69k, and the cheapie was $16.99/SKU 90k. Both from the wishlist and it turned out a tough choice.
Lowest this year for me (freebie): SKU 43777 -- on day 1. I only had 1 punch, which may or may not have had a single blessed thing to do with it. (Oddly, it was a higher base price than two subsequent and much higher SKUs). My day 1 for 2024 was SKU 12324 (on my WL, so no complaints) so maybe the first day just starts off low for me?
I agree joanna, I also have items on my wishlist that I don't dislike, (especially after cleaning it up thanks to this forum), but I like some a little more than others.:)
I know. Sorry i wasn't clear was just ranting and wasn't looking for more advice. My problem are the punches (lack of them). i'm still getting freebies without punches, just useless stuff. (The fine print does not state that you need punches, just that with punches it is guaranteed one of the two should be free.) First days were nice even without punches, but was probably a bug.
I too think there might be a "nothing under this" (or there'd be loads of people annoyed at getting Vic4 hand-me-downs). I wondered if, rather than SKU, it's price related. I've a handful and more newish but cheap DOs that so far haven't shown up.
So here's a marker:
$12.99 is by far the lowest priced item I've so far been offered.
NB: My WL is sized not to get me both freebie and paid-for from my WL each day... but to try to get me (all) my WL by EOS.
I also picked up the Nice-List item - you can never have too many follies ... and the freebie hair plasticizer (which in some renders, might produce some very decent/fun results)
Punches
Has anyone else found what (I think) I found?
"Each day you make a purchase over $1, you get a punch discount you can use the next day. Purchase for 3 days in a row to get 3 punches, and up to an extra 40% off your entire order. A purchase today will get you a punch tomorrow. "
At first glance, that might appear to mean, "once you have 3 punhces, and then miss a day, you need only buy the next day to get your three punches back". Not true, it seems ... I had 3, missed a day, I bought yesterday but punches not restored to 3 today - if they aren't tomorrow, then the bit of the orginal tagline that's correct would be: "Purchase for 3 days in a row to get 3 punches"
As far as we managed to determine, punches have nothing to do with what kind of things you're getting, just whether you get a freebie items or not (if you're still getting them, great! maybe Daz changed something around). It seems to have everything to do with having enough (looks like definitely over 60) qualifying items on your wishlist. So if you had, let's say, 70 qualifying items at the beginning on December, you would get things from your wishlist for a while, but as of today the pool would be only 56 (from what I've seen, items don't repeat), so not enough, and the algorithm seems to be expanding the pool to all eligible items which makes the chances of you getting something not interesting exponentially bigger. Basically, but not having enoughs stuff on your wishlist, you're adding the 41245 (made up number, just for scale) items outside of it to the pool the algorithm pulls your calendar items from. And what are the odds of one of your 56 items showing when there's so many other items there?
As for ranting, there was a disclaimer in the first post:
There are already people complaining about not getting anything they would want in two other threads but at the same time they refuse to do things that other users are reporting as significantly upping one's chances of getting something nice, so sorry, but I'm not particulately compassionate to "just ranting" here. I created this thread created for excitement, exchanging information, and figuring out the calendar, so that we can all get items that are more tailored to our individual needs (even the thread's title points to it).
If you need help, advice, examples, though, we're here!
