How do "you" search the daz forums?

I have a hard time finding threads I'm looking for as it pops up anything that has my search word in it. Looking for Old Western theme'd clothes semi realistic to real both male and female and I know theres a thread somewhere but the search engine is lack luster.

It's largely unsearchable for me, unless I have a very distinct search keyword. But for phrases or product titles, enclose it in quotes and it will only give exact matches.

  • I just Googled "daz3d forums chibi"  and received a lot of wondeful links!  Therefore, try Google :)

Yes.  I usually use their Advanced Search though which offers more detailed search parameters.

I will give that a try!  Thank you!

  • I use the Duck Duck Go search engine since it doesn't track. Usually a phrase like "How to do ___ in Daz forum"* or "Product Name Daz forum" gets me me to the right thread.

Also if I am looking for a Read Me, I search "Product Name doku." "Doku" is part of the url for Daz's documentation center entries. Often I get the Read Me link even without "doku" but including it means I'm less likely to see results for product pages or forum threads.

*Note: quotes not needed for the searches

  • I do a site search in Google. Eh, so Google knows that I hang around here.

I usually avoid searching the forums. But sometimes I get curious.

In the past I'd ignored the Genesis 8.1 characters in the store. But I decided to look for evidence of them, using the forums.

Oh my gosh, I got so many hits on the word "Genesis," but my question really wasn't answered.

But recently someone in the forums helped me find them. I hadn't seen them because I usually go straight to the Characters folder.

    Easy, I don't...

I type in DAZ, or DAZ Forums: "the issue that interests me" into google, and that's how I find anything as the forum's search engine is not that great…

The Daz website built-in Victoria AI is surprisingly good for finding answers in the forums as well as finding products in the store. I use it all the time now. (I didn't even know it existed until I turned off my adblocker). Turn off ad-blocker and you'll see an icon for it in the lower right hand corner. And it's better than the moderators tbh, and that says a lot because Richard is a wealth of information. I even asked it your question and it gave me some items, then I asked for discussions on this topic and it gave me this:

With an astounding amount of gymnastics, given that it's 2025. The web is how old now? Search functionality (that is actually functional search) in page/site design should be de rigueur.

I am not sure where Victoria AI is, but as seen by the attached images it is not the DAZ search icon. Typed in gore filter and got this search result.

as I stated above turn off ad-blocker (many browsers now have it on by default) and the icon for Victoria AI is in the lower right hand corner, click on that icon to bring it up (see pic)

ok now I see the Victoria AI icon at the bottom if I choose to disable uBlock Origin extension. Thank you for the clarifications. Does not seem to be beneficial for my searches.
