Why is DiM installing base package updates every time it is opened now?

For the last few weeks, each time I seem to open the Install manager, it propts me to install updates to the base packages. Anyone know why it's doing that? And yes, I do the install each time.

A tricky one to diagnose but check the location where your Manifest files are stored. Make sure it's not in a location where OneDrive or some other external application can mess around with the files - perhaps moving them around or restoring older versions from backups etc.

The thread has been moved to technical support, as it's not a Daz Studio application issue.

What products are doing this? If it's Daz's core figures it can be because there is some kind of update to it, or it's not recognizing your install path. Do you have multiple product libraries?

Updates in the main list, or is it prompting you in a pop-up window to install The Daz Studio and/or Hexagon applications, plus any base plug-ins and content? If it's the latter uncheck all the packages, make sure it is not set to show at start up, and click Accept (Cancel won't make it remember your choices).

  • DiM is opening an update pop up screen on launching, prompting me to update several packages, some are basics, like the gen8 starter essentials, others are packages I've bought. It seems to be the same files every time. And no to multiple diectories. I have Daz installed on my D driive... hmm... apart from my render library files, which is in the normal c:/documents

maybe try deleteing those pacakges to force DiM to re-download them?

can test it out on just one of them so it's not so time consuming

look for one of them in DiM then right click it and select delete package.

if it's not on the update list then maybe it will work for the others

I suggest this becasue it's worked for me in the past and if I remember correctly the G8 starter essentails was one of the pacakges.
