Hands in Pockets

I've bought Aeon Soul's Man of Substance poses as there are lots of slouching about which is unusual and something I find difficult to make work (quite easy in real life). And hands in pockets! The promo shows a pocket being opened. My question is, how do you do this if there isn't already a morph provided by the vendor of the trousers?

    Have you seen this

Yes but it doesn't give any detail into how to open the pocket

In image 2 you can see that the pocket is slightly opened, so the pants must have a morph to do that. And then they essentilly use the smooth modifier to get the hand fully into the pocket, by moving it closer to the torso.

And they have listed which products they have used in promos.

Yes, I already know that. But the only product in the promo list that includes in its list of morphs to open and close pockets is the MI Autumn Outfit. The others do not. That is why I am asking the question.

not very many clothes come with functional things like pockets that open and close

for men's clothes there are even fewer choices

you are doing the right thing and looking through the list of available morphs on the clothes product page.

One can create those types of morphs themselves rather easily with mesh grabber( which is now geometry sculptor), but the pocket needs to exist to start with or else you'd need to model in the pocket also.

Yes I'm amazed rhe autumn outfit has them - the quality of mal3imagery's products are amazing. Thanks for the tip about mesh gabber (which I've bought but so far never used). And OK, the only other option is to model a pocket to go on top and sample the texture to match it (which is probably beyond my skill set and simply not worth it). I've only realised the restrictions of the pose set after buying it. Still a good set of poses for me though so happy enough.

well you could possibly geograft a pocket

disclaimer, I have never made a geograft

I would probably cut a slit with the geometry editor and just apply the same shader to the thigh underneath

Thanks - that second idea certainly sounds worth trying (I've never made a geograft either). I guess even a dark gey underneath would do the me fine.

As long as the pockets have their dedicated geometry, as others said, it'll be very easy to make them opened by using Mesh Grabber / Geo-Sculptor or Blender, then create morphs as you wish ~ (ss1)

But if the pants' geometry is just a single piece with no dedicated polygons for the pockets, i.e. pockets are just texturized..., geo-grafting or rigging with a cut geometry via Transfer Utiliy will very much depend on the pants' topology as well as the shape / position of a pocket ~ In most of the case, I don't think it's easy to make them ~~ (ss2)

If there's no pocket opening, then to get image10 and/or 11 in the post by @felis...

You might just use meshgrabber on the trousers (pants) and pull a selection of polys outward to cover the hand - as with @crosswind SS2, depending on the geometery of the trousers. (You couldn't, though, do image-12)

    Thanks for all the ideas
