Products for G9 manually added in my Products Library cannot be downloaded.

I finally updated my Daz Studio and I am so excited to finally be able to use G9.  I am now trying to get my G9 products installed, which I do manually.

I have several G9 products in my products library that have been manually added, however I cannot manually download them.  One example shown below.

They are not showing up at all in my Download manager at all.

Lord knows I don't need any more products, even though I still purchase them.  I have purchased several products for G9 overy the last few years, so I am fine which just my purchased products, plus the wonderful free Bundle each month.

I am just curious about these items.

I downloaded Genesis 9 Starter Essentials thinking perhaps these files were included in there, however they are not.

Thank you one and all for explaining.  Just a reminder...I search on the Daz3d Forums and Google my questions several ways before I ask anything here. LOL :)

That's a Premier Exclusive - you  can only install them though DAZ Connect (i.e. from inside DAZ Studio itself).

    It's a Premier exclusive shape.

You can only download these shapes from Daz Studio because you only have access to them with an active Premier subscription: the files are encrypted and will only be decrypted by Daz Studio if it checked that you have an active subscription.

I don't know what needs to be done in Daz Studio to access them, I have never tried to use any of the Premier exclusives tools and shapes.

    1. Open Daz Studio
    2. Log in and allow metadata to be updated (this allows Daz3d to figure out if you are eligible for the character and creates the place for it to go)
    3. Go to Content Library and the "All Tab", select the Figures category and sort by date
    4. The Premier Characters should appear greyed out and ready to install; select the figure, right click and "install"
    5. You will need to log in periodically (i log in once a week) to maintain their status
  • Thank you both so much!

Ok, I have never downloaded and installed anything inside Daz Studio.

    I will do that!!

Excellent!  I installed one of them and it is now in my Daz Connect Library on my Drive C.  So, these are cloud based, right?  I must be connected to the internet to use them?

The one I installed, which was Adore for Asha 9, takes very little space since it is just morphs.

This is good, because I am running out of hard drive space on my Drive C.  When I set up Daz Studio 4.24 last week, I set up a Daz Library on my External Drive and told the Products Manager to install things there if I ever install through that.

Again, thank you all so much.

Excellent!  So, #5 sounds like I can use them without being connected to the internet.

No, you don't have to be connected to to the cloud to use them; you just have to periodically reconnect briefly to the web to reauthorize their use and then you can log out again.  My guess is that you need to reauthorize roughly twice a month though this is a guess. They aren't cloud based per se but just need the authorization.

    Gotcha!  Easy enough!

    Thank you all!!

Good news, the new versions of Daz studio in general work much better than obsolete versions.  Happy rendering.

  • Thank you!  I am having a blast :)
