Have you ever done manual posing?

You should always start with the hip, as all bones start from here, i.e. in this case move the hip to the floor.

After the hip you can move upwards or downwards through the bones. Upwards get the torso first, and the hands last. And basically adjust each bone to fit.

You can either use the bone hierachi in the Scene tab or the Powerpose tab, in conjuction with the Parameters settings for the bones.

Depending on the pose, you might have to adjust the hip again, but that will have an influence on all bones potentially.

Here is a quick version of what it looked like for me - though for G8F (she was in my scene).

    I think that's a split, not a sitting pose.

I thought the splits had the legs out to the side, not in front, flat to the ground, and parted a bit as here.

You can apparently both do split side-side and front-back. Though I wouldn't be able to do any of them.
