Strand-Based Hair Issue

I'm having issues figuring out why this hair isn't hanging straight down. The included pictures show the settings of the both the hair, and the result of current frame simulation.

Please help.

    Many SBH is defualt set to low moveability.

    In surface settings for the SBH hair (not the cap) try to lower local shape constraince(?) (Daz is busy so I can't check the actual name) to maybe 50.

    I can see that that is not present in the overview, but it might be that that is because it is only relevant for SBH.

    The existence of that setting would likely solve a ton of odd stuff I noticed during my tests with it. Thanks so much for pointing me at something. I'll experiment tonight.
