Daz Studio Wont Open Fully Just Stays Minimized

After migrating my installer and lirary files to a new drive (the oid one was failing and is now dead) i can't get Daz to run. it trys to run but opens a tab on my task bar but nothing else. it basically looks like its minimized but when i click on it it doesn't do anything. i can only click on the x button to close the window. i tried reinstalling the game ready driver installing the latest studio drivers reinstalling daz reinstalling daz in a different location on my local drive going into the install directory deleting daz from there and reinstalling it and even for kicks and giggles i tried putting in a THIRD drive with my old daz library on it and installing daz on that with no avail. somebody please HEEEEELP!!!!!

Are your Windows display settings configured for multiple monitors? If so, could the window be on the other monitor?

Or, you can try: Shift + right-click on it on the task bar..., or Windows + D to toggle Show/Hide, see if that works.

  • my public build wasn't showing the main window Richard suggested this
    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/specific_ui/screen_size_fhd/start
    ----
And it worked brought it back from wherever it was.
But I don't know if you can just click on the script with an invisible main window up and running or click on it and have it start daz ... it would seem either way might work but since I haven't tried those ways no idea if they will.
Since I use all my panes floating while the main window wasn't showing I was able to put the script it the scripts folder and run it from there.

A command line can send a filename to DS (betas cannot be made the default for opening native files, so double-clicking a script or preset won't work). See http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/tech_articles/command_line_options/start - the final section, Filename, explains how to tell DS to open a file.

I think you guys are misunderstanding what I'm saying. Is there a way to send a screenshot?

thank you sooooooo much!!!!! Windows + D WORKED . Definitely keeping this in mind if/when it happens again. FYI this wasn't the first time it happened. It's the SECOND. It happened earlier on a different computer. I actually reinstalled my entire operating system to fix this problem. I wish I knew just to do windows D before. Could've saved hours of unnecessary work. Better late than never live and learn and all that jazz ;)
