Changing the selection mode in the Viewport window

AndySAndyS Posts: 1,447

Hi,

sometimes I feel like a beginner with DAZ again.

I now installed DAZ 4.24 on my new PC. Again the selection in the viewport shows every asset yellow where the cursor is over. If I want to select a character in the scene, only the bone under the cursor is selected.
I know this mode can be changed. Only corners around the selected figure and the whole character gets selected. But the last time I had to do it is many many years ago (dementia).

So please, where on the DAZ help site is the tutorial how to do it?
Or it would be kind to tell me here.

Thank you

Andrew

Single click is to select a bone but you can double-click to select the root node, i.e. the figure.

Then check Node Selection Mode in Tool Settings pane... Choose the mode you prefer to.

Draw Settings, Highlight Style - set it to Bounding Box Only.

    Thank you to you both.

Meanwhile I found a corresponding video of someone on YT.

And the step described by crosswind I found by exploreing the tool settings by myself.

    But:
Is there a corresponding official DAZ3D tutorial under the help section of this site available?
Or should you start to create these?

    Regards

    Andrew

I don't think there is an official tutorial - it is only two settings after all - but it may be mentioned in Jay's masterclass videos.
