My Character and some other in Saved .duf Scenes Shifted UPWARDS by 10-20cm!
I'm facing a critical and frustrating issue that has affected all my saved scenes. Еvery single one of my saved .duf scenes is now broken.
When I load any previously saved scene, some of my characters are positioned approximately 10-20 cm higher than they were originally. all interactions with props are misaligned.
I've attached two renders: "Before" shows the correct positioning, and "After"
What could have caused this, and how can I fix it? It seems like a global offset has been applied to all figure nodes upon loading. Any help would be immensely appreciated before I have to rebuild dozens of scenes from scratch.

See if the Ground Position Setting under Render Settings/Environment has been changed from Auto to Manual or visce versa.
Ground is set to Auto and everything seems to be at default. I found one parameter that had somehow changed, namely 'Scale,' which was set to 106.5%. I changed it to 100, which made it better, but the position is still off. What else could it be?
No, it doesn't seem to be a scale issue. All characters have their own scale, not necessarily 100%, correct? I loaded others, some have 113, 107, etc.
please help!
Is it the character or the table, with content, that changes height?
And are there any animations in the scene?
I have close to a thousand renders, and a lot of them have been altered. Here's what one looks like now when I open it, even though it was perfectly fine before.
props, are fine, i think it's only characters
And it's not a problem with the height, as I initially thought. If it were the height, she would be floating in the air, but she is standing on the floor. However, her hand is positioned higher!
It looks like the floor has moved as there are no shadows from anything showing and they all look as if they are floating.
no, it's just filament, in iray shadows are the same
Flicking between the two images you posted she doesn't move but the counter and chairs drop/shrink. There is something wrong in the environment/draw settings to cause that.
I can't even imagine what could have interfered with my saved renders and changed the poses like this! I even checked the oldest *.duf files, and there too, everything is not as it was!!
Are you using default camera settings? Have they changed?
1 second
Yes, the camera is at its default. Here is the first, original one. The second is how it looks now. The third was at 100% scale, but it was originally 106.5%. Scaling it helps, but even so, for example, she is holding the mouse differently.
Flicking through them side by side it looks like a scaling issue with the figure. Why it is doing it to all your figures I don't know. That would have to be something in your preferences that has been reset but what I have no idea.
The Scale of your character seems changed for sure. Have you installed any character products recently ?
Select your character, go to Parameters pane, click the gear icon on the Scale property, in Controllers tab, see if you can find some clues there.... Some character products with wrong ERC settings may bring you the issue ~.
Yes, I manually installed G9 characters. But how do I find the one that started all this? Right now, for one character, I found the perfect value of 99%, but it doesn't work for another. I have to find a custom value for each one to get them back to how they were! And when I load them again, I'll have to reduce them to these specific values all over again! And when loading new characters, they will also be the wrong size from the start!! This is just some kind of hell!
Ah, you better find out the culprit ... otherwise you have to tweak your characters' Scale value in each scene ~~ I'm afraid.
I found one problem: 'Proportion Height' and 'Proportion Larger' were at 10%. When I set them to 0%, it became much better, but the character is still not quite the same and is taller. Can you tell me where to dig?
Found it, proportion legs!!!
Thank you guys!
Can you uninstall the G9 characters or roll back the computer to before you installed them? This might clear it and then you can install them again one at a time and test your scenes after each one to find the culprit.
Here's the question how can I make sure these values stay at 0 and not keep reverting to their own values? Every time I load the character, these values reset and the characters get larger again?
Oh, you didn't say you were using G9. Well, these Proportion xxx morphs usually are not dialed themselves but triggered by a Controller from a character morph.
You can load a G9 Dev Load, see if they're already automatically dialed. If they're, Zero the figure with Zero option, then you should be able to find the culprit in Currently Used.
Click the gear icocn on the Proportion Legs slider, then seelct Parameter Settings from the menu that opens. In the settings dialogue switch to the Controllers tab at the bottom and look through the list - something there is probably the issue, loading with a non-zero default value or having some kind of ERC that isn't correctly multiplied by the shape value itself; with luck the name will match a recently installed character or shape product and you can go from there in confirming and reporting the issue (assuming there isn't an update for the product).
