Extract poses from animations: Solved!

I rarely (read "never", outside of dForce Assistant) use animations but I did pick up the 3DU Idle Designer for Genesis 9 when it was a GT this month. I'm testing that today and now that I have this little animation created, it occurs to me to wonder how to extract poses from animations.

I searched and found some older threads on the subject, but in context of today, with G9, what options are there? I swear I saw a product somewhere when I totally wasn't paying attention to the subject that offered that as functionaity.

  • Assuming they are standard animations, rather than something like AniBlocks, such save a Pose Preset and in the options dialogue select the Current Frame option.

@Totte has a script doing just that in this product (no idea if it's working for Aniblock, I don't even remember loading one):

You can extract a pose for each frame, or just a selection of them, and save them in the directory you chose. While I would have liked to have the ability to automatically select only the frames where a key was saved, I have no idea if it's possible by a script and overall, the couple of times I have used it, it did the job I asked for and should do it for you too if you chose to buy it (or if you already own it and don't remember buying it laugh).

That totally worked, thanks! I knew I had seen a utility that mentioned that recently.

[...if you already own it and don't remember buying it laugh]     That never happens. wink
