Any thoughts on where this might have gone?   I've never used G9 before and just downloaded the essentials

Do you also have the current Default Resources package?

I have no idea.  I will go take a look.  Were they part of the free stuff for G9?

Default Resources has the shaders, including PBR Skin (which was new with Genesis 8.1), and broadly other things that are not figure-specific.

is this something I need to purchase?  I can't find anything in my library that relates to that.  I have 3 items relating to genesis8.1  Theodora, Hair and Rosamund.  I did install all 3 packs of Genesis 9 essentials.

You don't need to purchase it separately, it's part of Daz Studio 4.x but has its own install file.

It's part of the base content, it dosn't have its own product page it is the second download on the main DS application product page https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_13176 and should have its own entry in DIM or Daz Connect

Will this install the latest version of Daz Studio?  Because I am 100 percent certain my machine can't handle that lol.  Its not that big of a deal, I have more than enough content with prior generations to happily render into the next century or two.  Was just curious if G9 was a big improvement or not.

  • Default Resources is just content, however PBR Skin and other things do have minimum version requirements  which might be an issue for you - exactly which version are you on, and why can't you go later?

  • Memory would be tight, certainly, and the GPU probably wouldn't be useful. Unfortunately PBRSkin requires at least DS 4.15.x.x

No worries.  I have literally thousands of characters and items to play with from victoria 4 to G8.  I doubt I will get bored anytime soon.  Appreciate it!
