Question about the artist Uzilite

When I first got into Daz, WAAAYYYY back in the day, one of my favorite artists was Uzilite.  I own most of his stuff here.  And now a new project has come up that his New Adventure set is perfect for, and while the M5/V5 characters can wear it with tweeks, I don't have as much character stuff for them, so making a 'crew' is complicated.  So I started looking to see if the outfit had some updated morphs to more modern figures Gen3 would be fine, but 8/9 would be amazing, I noticed his stuff seems to have stopped years ago.

Did we lose Uzilite?  Did he quit or, is he no longer with us?

I hope not, becuase he did some of the best work of that era with interesting clothing and props, though no shade to any of the other talented artists out there.  I guess, I'm hoping he just went somewhere else and I can track him down, but I find his domain is up for sale which makes me think the worst.  Does anyone know for sure?  And, does anyone know a good way to update clothing this old to the more modern figures?  Like I said, Gen 3 would be great, but I'd even take G2.  Anybody got some magic they want to share?

IIRC they used to sell some G8 content on gumroad at some point, not sure if they still do.

edit: I just checked and they still seem to have a few items for sale there.

As for using older clothes on recent figures, you can try autofit. You'll probably need to purchase clones to convert V4/M4 clothes on the most recent figures though.

For free you can do V4/M4 to Genesis then Genesis to Genesis 9, and then back to Genesis 8 if desired.

Most autofit conversions are not absolutely perfect, so reducing the number of steps means you'll reduce the number of imperfections introduced. If it's possible to do a single step autofit it's probably going to be better than a 3 step one. But .. it may cost you. Regards, Richard

So, I bought the RSSY Clothing Converter from Generation 4 to Genesis 3 converter, it was on sale.  And I'm fighting with it, so far, I have to be honest, it's winning.  What is this free conversion of which you speak?  Is there a how to somewhere I can read/watch?

It's just AutoFit in DS, with the figures' Starter Essentials installed. Most of the other wardrobe converters are also AutoFit clones. What issues are you having?

Huh, that's odd as I have Starter Essentials installed.  When I do a Genesis 3 autofit, it's just a mess, but Genesis (Mike 5) will work.  I have a screen Shot...

Genesis 2  Male
Unsupported

I picked unsupported and then for type of item I picked shirt in this case.

CES3D offers a free script which will create V4/M4 autofit clones for Genesis 9 by using the V4/M4 autofit clones for Genesis and then, I suppose, Genesis autofit clones for Genesis 9:

Off the top of my head, the script does almost everything automatically and you only have to use it one time: once it has finished, you'll have V4/M4 autofit clones for Genesis 9 and will be able to autofit V4/M4 clothes directly on Genesis 9

I don't know if the results will be good or not though: it'll likely depend on the clothes you're autofiting.

Unsupported will just project the rigging to the current shape, it won't chnage the shape to fit the new figure. You need, with the older figures, to go step by step (Genesis>Genesis 2>Genesis 3) or to have a clone shape that will do the conversion you want (e.g. for Genesis 8 to Genesis 3).
