adding textures to shaders that dont have a texture option

is there some way to add a dropdown to an existing shader that does not have an option to select a surface texture. Is there a specific way of doing this? and no, parameter is not hidden in the surface properties.

That would require a new shader, or editing the shader if it was built in Shader Mixer.

Not 100% sure what you want but is it the case that: a slot in Surfaces pane which was mappable but now you see no dropdown that you can choose to select a texture map for it ?

Richard, is there a tutorial that is up-to-date on this process you might be able to recomend on this?

Crosswind. Yes a dropdown, and I've checked the hidden parameters to see if they might have been turned off, they're just no there.

    1) Defining a slot that is originally non-mappable to be Mappable in Shader Mixer ; and 2) Resetting a non-Mappable slot to be Mappable so as to bring its Dropdown back are totally different things.

So, you better name which Slot ? If the slot's Mappable attribute was set as false in the DUF file for some reason, you would not be able to see the Dropdown for assigning a texture map...

Check this post to see how to fix it, if you have the above case 2). https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/8335231/#Comment_8335231
