Daz Studio Settings and monitors

I recently switched my monitor to a 4K, 32 inch screen. Often when I load a character the view port jumps out of the studio desktop and the desktop becomes smaller and hops to a different area of the screen. Is there a particular setting within Daz for larger monitors? If so what is the optimal setting?

Not something I have heard of.

    Can you post a screenshot?

It just happened again but I hadn't read you comment. I will get a screen shot when it happens again. This time I was just changing the size of plane I'd already added. The viewport also jumps slightly when I click on it to remove a test render and return to the selection tool. I'm using Windows 11 with an 11th gen i7 processor 16 gig of ram and an Nvidia 3070 graphics card. I'll update when I get a screen shot.

Okay, here is an example. In this case I did a test render of a portion of the screen to see how photos work as backgounds. Not a very complicated render. It rendered and when I clicked on the x to close it, the pane jumped out of the desktop and the viewport area disappeared from the desktop as shown. This isn't just a render issue. Sometimes the desktop leaves a space for the viewport, this time it jumped completely out. Normally it pops back in a second or two later. Sometimes if I click anywhere on the screen or Daz desktop it will pop back in. This time I had to drag the viewport back on top and then it snapped into place. I recently reinstalled DAZ due an issue with it opening but this has been going on and the prior issue appears to be that a glitch made it show as open in task manager while it never fully loaded. I have only had that issue once and it seems fine now, except for this.

Which version of Daz Studio are you using?

  • The 4.25.  It just started this when I upgraded the monitor. Could be something else but that is all I am aware of changing.

    There isn't a 4.25 - do you mean 4.24.x.x or 2025?

Does the display have scaling applied?

Sorry. 4.24. The latest update. Where would I find scaling? Is that an Nvidia setting? Found scaling in general settings. It is set to 150% which is the recommended setting. Is there a scaling setting for text in Daz? With the new monitor, the screen is now larger but the text is still about the same size and further away! The text size is not part of the problem just something I was wondering about.

That was the scaling I asked about, yes - it is a reflection of how dense the pixels are on your monitor and it may be causing confusion (I have had the odd weird jump in different applications with two different scaling on my monitor (100%) and pen-display (!20% I think)..

  • Thanks. I'll try some different settings and see what happens! It goes from 100 to 350..

I'm not sure it this is the same thing that is happening to you, but after the last update(It also could have been after the last driver update), If I am clicking around my workspace and I go to fast, the window will resize itself to something smaller, about 1/4 until Daz "catches up", and then it pops back to full screen. It does not impede anything, except that my heart takes a jump when I am working on something for hours, and the screen goes away for that half a second.
