Getting converted V4 clothing and props to follow G8F

I have a few old V4 outfits that I have autofitted to the G8F figure.  I then used the Surface tab to convert them to IRAY using the IRAY base shader.  I then saved them as either wearable preset sor as wardrobe assets using the Support Asset function.  Whenever I load them in a new scene, they no longer follow the G8F.  I have to fit them to it all over again.  Am I missing something?  They follow the figure fine when they are fitted to it.  But if I restart DS, they don't.

PS, this is also true with M4 and G8M as well.

For saving them as wearable you should save them as figure/prop asset first.

When you load it, and select it in the scene tab, click local menu (3 bars) and Edit > Scene Identification, what does it then say 'Preferred Base' is?

They all had "<None>".  I changed them to Genesis 8 Female and hit the accept key.  It didn't work as they still don't follow the character once I close the scene and start again.  I'm going to delete them and start over.

    Load G8F

    Load V4 Clothing

    Autofit V4 Clothing to G8F

I won't change the surfaces to IRAY Shader Base (as I had before) or add anything additional at this point.  I'll just leave it all alone and see if I can get it to follow the G8F character.

Save new autofitted clothing as Figure/Prop>Follower>Wardrobe>Outerwear>Tops (I'll do Outerwear>Bottom for the pants).  This is the Content Type

    Set category to Wardrobe>Outerwear>Tops

Set Compatibility Base to Genesis 8/Female (the default field had Genesis 8/Female/new jacket (the name of the jacket)

Set Compatible with to Genesis 8/Female

Left all other settings to their defaults

    Hit Accept.

That worked.  I will recreate the other parts of the outfits, doing the same each time.  Once I get the outfit recreated and working, then I'll add the new iray shaders and update the surfaces.  That shouldn't cause any problems, should it?

Thanks for your direction.  It helped.

Comptability Base should be the clothing item. That is used for smartcontent to match textures.

But they should both be set when you autofit.
