Anyone Else Having DIM Issues Again?

DIM has lost my password, and the instances of my account in that dropdown show my account name/email with extra characters. I've uninstalled/reinstalled and same thing so I put in a ticket. I was working fine 2 days ago, except for losing connection once in a while (which is 100% due to the local ISP).

Am I the only one with issues?

I wanted to update my Daz installs & I was going to buy more stuff, but not right now. Yes, I am perfectly capable of manual installs, but it's an extra annoyance.

No issues here. Have you tried the add account option from that same dropdown? You may be able to enter your account email again if the extra character's in the saved account's email are recognised as different.

Otherwise, you could try switching to Daz Central: https://www.daz3d.com/blog/dazcentral-your-new-content-manager It has been depracted but still works. It's essentially a different interface into the same DIM application. Could help while you wait on support.

Uninstaling and reinstalling won't touch settings, so it is unlikely to help here. It sounds as if there is an issue with the account.ini file (or the ini files for additonal accounts) in

    %appdata%/daz 3d/installmanager/useraccounts/

I will look there, thanks. Maybe it will help tech support figure out what happened, even if I can't edit the file. (Weird things can happen when I dig around in my computer.) I tried to reward my correct email and it ended up with the same oddity, %20, in the middle

%20 is the hex code for a space - emails can't contain spaces so that may indicate an issue with typing it in.

Will add that to my list of Things To Check. I also saw one with %40 - I guess that's another hex code?

Finally got back into DIM with a couple tips from Tech Support. DOES still seems to add characters to any account name I type in, after the fact. I made sure to check Remember Me this time. (I still have no idea how DIM lost my login, but oh well.)

Next question: how do I remove those incorrect account names, or do I just live with them?

Add where? The hex codes will be used in the stored details, where a character is valid in an email but not the string fromat, but as long as they are valid (not spaces, for example) that is correct.

Good to know. It seems to have sorted itself out. The problem was probably some temporary glitch. At least if it recurs, I know how to fix it.
