Folding/morphing currency?

SnowSultanSnowSultan Posts: 3,773

I've been looking for a single morphing or partly foldable piece of paper currency, like a US $100 bill, but the only single bill I've been able to find is in Valandar's Pocket Filler set. Does anyone know if there are any others included in larger sets? Thanks.

    Try this:

    1. Load an asset of paper money
    2. Use Geometry editor to select half of the bill
    3. Edit > Duplicate - you now have two bills - the first with a geometry selection upon it
    4. with only one of the bills selcted, right-click a blank part of the screen > Geometry Editing > Delete Selected Polygons
    5. Select the other bill. You'll notice that it has the same polygons selected
    6. Right-click a blank part of the screen > Geometry Selection > Invert Selected
    7. Right-Click a blank part of the screen > Geometry Editing > Delete Selected Polygons
    8. Both bills should look like one
    9. Load a Null into the scene and position it between the two half-bills
    10. Ctrl Select one of the bills and apply mcjChange Orientation > Set Origin to Marker 1 (lower right corner of popup)

That last part (steps 9 and 10) will put the orientaion of each bill half at the same place - the center between them. So now as you rotate one of the bills in the appropriate direction, it will fold with the other half of the bill.

Mesh Grabber or Geometry sculptor would then be incredibly handy for adding additional morphs, like slight bending and such as need to follow the motion of the hand.

Of course, all of this relies on the bill having enough geometry to cut it in half in the first place.

Another freebie (warning, some products from SquarePeg3D are NSFW):

Thanks for all the quick responses. The Rendo one and Squarepeg's will do just fine. I've provided fighting pose references for Squarepeg, to say his stuff is NSFW is an understatement, lol...very nice guy though.  :)  Dartenbeck, that's an interesting litle tutorial, thanks for sharing.
