I bought a new computer and I need to transfer my 4TB DAZ 3D content library from an external drive to my computer's hard drive, but windows 11 can't do the job. It starts to moving the files for a while and then [drops] out, it stops the transfer. Has anyone else run into this prblem trying to transfer a massive library with Windows 11? What can I do?

I have moved big folders around on Windows 10. Assuming there is enough space, do you gt any error messages or warnings from security software?
No, I don't get any error messages, it just stops. I was able to move large files under windows 10, but not with windows 11. My new computer is Windows 11.
How did you "move" the folder, by Cut / Paste or Drag ? Suggest you try : Copy / Paste ...
It always works on my side with Win11 and Copy / Paste is much faster than Cut / Paste or "Drag to Move"
Besides, I recommend FastCopy. You can google FastCopy to give it a check ~~
If there is space for another drive inside the new computer I would just remove the external drive from its casing, put it into the new computer, and make sure the drive letter is the same as the external drive. Doing it that way means you don't use up space on the new internal disc and don't need to change drive letters in DIM or Daz3d.
Windows is a LOT better at moving files since Windows 7, used to be very dodgy under Vista and older. If its not working something, something else may be the issue. However even though its no longer essential I still tend to use TeraCopy when I move lots of files & large files as it has built in verification which seems slightly better than Windows'.
If youve eliminated all other possiblities & it still happens I'd try using TeraCopy. You can actually download it from the microsoft store these days too https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/xpdccppsk2xpqw?hl=en-US&gl=US and it's free.
Sounds like a RAM issue. Windows 11 does use more RAM than Windows 10. Win 11 has a 4GB min whereas Win 10 has a 2GB minimum. But task manmager will show significantly more RAM usage with programs in Windows 11 versus the same programs & services in Windows 10. Extra RAM is always used when coping files from external to internal or vice versa. I have 64 on one machine and 128 on another and use the latter for such transfers. If RAM is your issue, try coping and pasting less data like subfolders vs folders.
Edit: I have two internal ssds on each of my machines but I highly recommend you stick with storing 3D library on external hardrives and have two, one as a backup and one as a working master.
