Asset Bounding Boxes include Bones! ["Solved"/Not-An-Issue]

Hello everyone, I hope this is the right place for posting this,
my issue is pretty much in the title and the screenshots and I can't find anything on this.

I believe I must have toggled some setting through a key combination by accident, as I don't recall tweaking any settings that would explain the behaviour.
The second screenshot is only showing the bones cause I selected the Joint-editor tool.

This is really driving me nuts, so any help to get back the bounding boxes to only frame the visible part of assets would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Edit: The "issue" was just in my head™ and the described behaviour is normal.

In the Parameters pane, in the Display group, turn of Show Bones (I couldn't immediately remember where it was).

  • Hey there, thank you for the quick reply!

The "Show Bones" setting is already Off on all assets and toggling it On/Off did not make a difference unfortunately.

I don't quite understand the "issue" you have ~~

The Bardot Top was rigged on G8F figure, i.e. the rigging of G8F (bone structures) was all transferred to the top. The vendor didn't delete any bones under Left/Right Collars on the top, that's why you see the bounding box extending to the finger tips.

So, is that what you mean ? If so, it's quite normal and it won't bring you any issue in terms of using the assets....

Well, technically if you delete the bones under Left/Right Collars of the top, the bounding box will change accordingly (in below screenshots) ~~ However, some bones have to be necessarily kept so as to keep the rigging and weight, etc.

In the same way, some bones of Eyelashes were ever deleted, then you see the bounding box in your ss1...

This screenshot illustrates the issue a bit better I believe. The bounding box used to only frame the visible mesh geometry and did not include the underlying skeleton before.

I believe I'm just seeing things at this point. Just checked random Daz videos on YT and it seems that it's entirely normal behaviour that just for some reason stood out to me as looking "wrong".

This issue can be closed as Mandela-Effect type delusion.

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for everyones' time!
