HELP please with the aftermath of changing my email

I changed my email to another address and password on the DAZ3D website in my account. After that, DIM won't let me update that address and only allows me to add it as another accout, which I now have to delete. How do I correct DIM to use my new email address when connecting to my existing account? Also, I cannot connect to to DAZ3D if I want to? It too rejects me.

Create a new account (it can use dummy data if you like, t wiill never need to log in), make it the active account, and you should then be able to edit the real account; switch back and delete the dummy account once done.

I will try that. I did submit a ticket, as per the instructions I found on the Help page.

Richard, do I have to redownload everything?

Maybe I have to undo my email change in DAZ3D.com so the directories on my computer isn't all screwed up. I changed it due to all of the hacks going on out there.

That shouldn't be needed - I have made at least one change  and the temporary dummy account worked to let me edit the main one, as far as I can recall. You are probably getting redownload or reinstall prompts because the diectory used for downloads or manifests was not the default and so the new account is not seeing the old files.

I attempted to to log in to the dummy account and change the older email address account, but it would not allow me to edit that one. It is shown, but grayed out. The Help Center ticket has dissappeared, so unless you have another instruction, I will simply change the email address back to what it was with a new password.

You said that you attempted to log in to the dummy account. Did you in fact log in? Make sure you check "Work Offline". The greyed-out account is the one you are logged in under. Was your dummy account also greyed-out? If not, then I presume that you did not successfully log in to the dummy account.

I think you need to make the dummy account the default, not just use a different account to start DIM (there is no need to log in with it).

I can change to my dummy account and am able to edit any other DIM account other than the one I am using. "Log In" means offline to the local dummy DIM account, there is obviously no server to which to connect, like the main DAZ account.

Sorry, yes - I was misremembering - just pck the dummy account (or switch to it using the option at top-right) and work offline, then you can edit the details for your regular account in the settings.
