I am in doubt what you want - that they didn't exist?

And what is your goal with what you want?

If that s a typo for 4.23.x.x then yes, you can disable Tone Mapping for Iray - Tone Mapping Enable iin Render Settings one you have a Tonemapper options node - though the node itself wl remain (if you delete it the settings will revert to default).

  • thanks for comments and yes Richard 4.34 was a typo

Why would the user want to do that? Short answer please - my experience has been that Tone Mapping is a huge category of issues and subtleties.

Getting a flat tonal range can be useful for post-processing or compositing. However, I would say it is useful only with canvasses, so you can get a high bit-depth .exr file to work on - trying to adjust an 8 bits per channel basic render is a recipe for disaster (posterisation/banding).

And a "canvas" in this context is...???

In the Advanced tab of Render Settings you can enable canvasses and then add variousones, including a Beautypass for a full render. They get  saved to a sub-folder of whereever  the main render goes,  using .exr format which gives more bit depth (more colour values per pixel).
