Residual cache files in Roaming

I am currently trying to clean up all unnecessary files from my C: drive. I have noticed an accumulation of cached files in C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\dson\cache , with the .cache extension. Can I get rid of those without creating issues with my Daz Studio?

You don't have to clean them up. They're all necessary to cache morphs so as to speed up the figure's loading time. Even if you Clear DSON cache files in Preferences or manually delete them, each time you load Genesis figures or other figures, cache files are automatically created.

You can change the cache location in Edit/Preferences, though, to keep them from being recreated on your C drive, if you have another drive in the computer.

Yup, if the problem is that you really run out of the space on you C drive, you can modify the location of cache path to another disk... though cache folder usually won't occupy too much space (2GB on my side, I have nearly 40K products ~~)

  • Thanks guys, I'll try that out :)
