Bryce was my first 3D-art software too. Still love to work in it. Unfortunately, it is very clear that no new version will be made (ever, I guess). But the version we have van still be very well used for wonderful artworks.
rigomrtsfx - Not my first, I started with free Terragen at the time but when I had a bit of money left I bought Bryce 5 and stayed with it - though I also used Studio from version 0.8 up to 4 from time to time and Carrara from version 3 to 8.1 but seldom.
started with free A-W Maya 4 PLE
It was also my first 3D program. Afterward, I tried TrueSpace and LightWave, and I put it aside for a while until I picked up Bryce again a little over two years ago. I've also tried Blender, and along with Bryce, I'm using VUE (which was made free last year and has given me good results). I'm no professional in this field, just a dedicated amateur. I hope it continues to work for a long time, and if new versions of Windows don't support it, I'll keep an "old-fashioned" PC just to use it.
Greetings from Chile.
My first ever 3D program was MilkShape 3D which I got to do some game mods !
Bryce was my first 3D software, besides a bit of Wings 3D this is the only 3D software I use.
