My SAVE Button doesn’t Light Up...

Hi everyone,

I’ve run into a strange issue in Daz Studio and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

After a render finishes, the Save button in the render window stays greyed out, so I can’t save the image directly. The only workaround I’ve found is using File > Save Last Render, which thankfully works, but it’s not ideal.

I spoke with a lovely support Lady at Daz who hadn’t come across this issue before. I’ve submitted a ticket and am waiting to hear back, but I’m not holding my breath (no offense intended, just being realistic, I know they are busy!).

In the meantime, has anyone else encountered this? Any ideas what might be causing it?

Also, I’m curious, what exactly happens when you reset Daz Studio to factory defaults? Does it just reset the interface layout, or does it wipe out custom content, preferences, or installed assets? I am really afraid to try it without some advice

Thanks in advance for any insights!

I have not heard about that before.

Does the log give any information (Help > Troubleshooting > View Log)?

I don't know what reset does. But it shouldn't touch your content, but potentially the paths. If noone else I expect Richard to come by, and say what reset does.

The only time I've seen the Save button grayed out was when I hadn't entered a file name for the render.

Check that the curent save location (folder or render library, deepndiong on what you have selecteed - library is the default) is writable and that the disc has space.

    Hi everyone,

Well, I finally figured it out, completely by accident while looking at some old screenshots for something else! I noticed that in one of them, the file name had “.png” next to it, whereas in my current workspace, that field was blank.

So, I added the file type back in, and, BINGO! Everything's working again. I even shared the discovery with the lovely tech lady from Daz, and she was just as surprised, since she hadn’t come across that quirk before either.

Felis, barbult and Richard thank you so much for your time and support. I really appreciate it, and I’m sorry if I ended up taking up your time unnecessarily.

    Kind regards,
    Géin
