Color swatch only grey scale

When attempting to select a color using the swatch tool (DTE, sky lab sun color, etc) it only allows a grey value from white to black, no other color.  I don't understand what is going on.

Update: okay nevermind, need to Alt + click to bring up the fine tune which allows different modes.  That works.  Weird that the swatch pick doesn't work though.

    Yep, for me the color pick option stopped working too, some time ago.
