changing the selected item when a scene is loaded

Is it possible to change which item is selected when a saved scene is first loaded? Somehow when my scene is loaded, always an item I never edit is selected.

You could write a script to set the desired selection state (e.g. add a data item to tag the item that should be seelcted and then have the script turn selection on for those items) and set it to run on start up/new scene in the relevant tabs of Preferences.

I have a 10 foot high 1x1 foot cube and the center point label 0 centerMarker
upon opening a scene it's alway the first thing in the scene list and I just select it (even if it's set invisible) and bingo center point in the scene.
Xplus side is bright red X minus is pink Zplus is dark blue and Z minus is light blue.
