Does updating Daz Studio affect custom Content Library filing system?

Hi :) So, I got Daz a few years ago. According to my Daz records, I've purchased over 4000 Daz products, plus I've accumulated freebies and bought from other websites. I can't even fathom how many individual items I have in my content library by now. But back then, I started a content management system that works well for me. I have a very specific filing system for every little thing. I was never a fan of Daz's way of organizing products, so I don't use Daz's file folders at all. Instead, I created my own system in the content library and only use those.

Because of this, I am still running Daz Studio 4.15 Pro on my PC, as I've been hesitant to update software due to concerns about losing my filing system. But I would really like to try the whole FilaToon thing, and it appears that I need the updated software for that. *cue the tears* I'm terrified of losing weeks and weeks of work I've spent organizing.

So, can anyone tell me how to update Daz Studio software without losing my custom Content Library filing system? Or is this a non-issue, and I can update easy breezy and I've been postponing the inevitable for years for no reason at all? :) (Hoping for the later.)

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

M

Install the beta which doesn't affect your current seup since it is designed to run in parallel to previous installations?

Installing a different release channel will not automaticqaly pick up the settings from a diffreent channel. Installing an update should ot tough your content, though it is sensible (even aside from updates) to periodically export userdate and back up the database - you can do the former through the Content Library option menu (the lined/"hamburger" button in the top corner, or right-click thr tab)>Content DB Maintenance>Export user data and the latter by making sure that nothing is using the database (DS, DIM etc. all closed) and maing a copy of the Content Cluster folder, as specified in Edit>Preferencs>CMS Settings.

Thank you both! I'll backup and then give it a try!
