Special effects on images ?

Hello,

I'd like to create the image of a powerful ice mage. I have everything I need, including clothing, characters, etc. But I have absolutely no idea how I could add the frost effects on the ground, the magic ice crystals, and basically the special effects produced by the mage. Is the easiest way to do this in Photoshop, or is there a tool for this in Daz?

 

In the DAZ store, there are often magical characters that are sold with very well-done visual effects on commercial images.

Using Metallic Flakes in the Surface settings (as long as the shader in use supported that, Iray Uber does) might be a good place to start, or the Top Coat settings
