Leather Muir cap

Hello all!

So one of my friends heard about my 3D modeling hobby between Daz3D and Blender, and asked if I could do a kind of mockup of a generic Leatherman. Yes, he's part of the BDSM/Leather community, and no, I don't judge, because he and his boys are super-sweet. The man is a genius in the kitchen and knows how to make gourmet dishes from all over the world. Anyhow, I told him I would give it a whirl, and so far, I've been doing good. Until now.

The Muir Cap.

I can't seem to find one on the site here or anywhere else. The one semi-lookalike I did purchase was from a German WWII set, but it's for Michael 4, and when I imported it into Blender, it was a triangulated nightmare mess. I can't even de-triangulate it, as the Alt-J trick in Blender just reduced the number of triangles, not transform them into squares. And it's not even symmetrical in Edit Mode. Rather than spend hours figuring out how to retopologize it, I thought I'd come here and ask for help. My initial thought was to create one from scratch using blueprints, but I couldn't find any online. Then I thought about just ordering one and tearing it apart to get the shapes and then rebuilding it in 3D. Sir looked at me like he wanted to unalive me for that idea: APPARENTLY it's complete sacrilege in the leather community to desecrate an item like that. So that idea is out the window. I know the kinds of stuff he does for "fun", and I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that if he's mad.
*shudders at the thought

So here I am, out of ideas. The rest of the clothing items I was able to kitbash together (I would like one of those cross-shoulder belts: I can't think of the name for it though). I'll attach a photo of one for reference. Thanks for any help!
