Help with Genesis 9 Autofit

I've made a robot character for myself in blender matching a morphed gensis 9 custom character (robot version of a human character, with the human character being the gensis 9 figure). Some part of the robot are fine since they are only under the influence of a single bone and can therefore just be parented to a single bone. However some parts of the mesh have multiple bone influences and I cant get these parts to follow the gensis skeleton without using the fit-to feature. This hower distorts the mesh since it tries to conform the robot character to genesis. But since i already shaped it to match my genesis figure in blender i dont want this and need a way to disable it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks :)

If I understand correctly, you modeled the robot part around a morphed G9, and the rigged it with transfer utility. But now when it's fit to G9 it adds your character morph again so it's distorted?

To rig an item which was not made for the default G9 shape, you need to do this:

    • Use your morphed G9 as the source figure when running transfer utility
    • Select "Current" for "Source - item shape", and check "Reverse Source Shape for Target" in the parameters
  • I manged to rig the item using the transfer utility. I can pose it but only seperatley to the genesis figure. Parenting it to the genesis figure still doesnt make it make. It moves with the genesis figure if i set it to "fit to" the genesis figure but that also results in the item warping.

    Many Thanks :)

  • I did this "Select "Current" for "Source - item shape", and check "Reverse Source Shape for Target" in the parameters" ... but it results in the robot mesh being shrinkwrapped to the genesis figure.

  • My bad i needed to have Reverse Source Shape for Target + Fit to source figure active. Many thanks :)

Why are you fitting it at all? However, if the robot is a different shape from the Gensis 9 figure it will of course need the weights editing - and don't forget that you may not use a Daz figure as a rigging donor for a stand-alone figue if you are going to share it with others (it's OK for your own use).
