Iray Ghostly Effect - G3F / V7

How might one turn a character fairly transparent? I've experimented with Cutout Opacity for skin-lips-nails but am not getting quite what I want.

Would it be better to replace the skin shader with one of the translucent wax ones? Other thoughts / ideas. TIA.

Again, looking for the ghost / specter effect.

What are you wanting to achieve? Turning a figure semi-transparent will allow the teeth and rear surface skin to show, and will reveal that there are no bones or internal organs. When people think of a ghost effect they usually mean something like a semi-opaque cutout pasted onto the scene, with only the front-facing and visible surfaces contributing - that is better done in post work by combining two renders from the same camera position (which would also allow you to tweak light colours for a spookier effect).

Thanks Richard. I've come to the same conclusion.

Add to a G3 figure Geometry Shell, hide figure and work with Shell(s).
