Is V7 Missing Expressions? [SOLVED]

These are the only 5 I can see.

By stark contrast, M6 comes with 26.

    I'm not sure but it seems that V7 gets less than V7 Pro Bundle. I bought the Tooned expressions for the Girl 7 so I can't tell easily for sure. If memory serves me correctly the expression set you cite was what I got with the Genesis 3 Female Essentials.

    Genesis 3 figures have actual facial rigging that allows for both symmetrical and asymmetrical expressions, unlike previous generations that required morphs for the expressions. You can achieve a lot more expressions by using the other posing dials in the head and not just the preset expressions. If you dial one of those presets, then go to the Currently Used at the top, you'll notice they're just controllers for other multiple dials.

    I've discovered she's supposed to have a lot more expression morphs than what appear in the Paramaters.  I just installed both G3F and V7 to a test folder, using the DIM, and checked the error log after loading V7.  DS reported a long list of data files for G3F and V7 that it couldn't find, all related to the rest of her expressions.

    I've opened a ticket with a copy of the log.

    Curious. I loaded V7 and have a lengthy list of things to tweak under Parameters>Pose Controls, after I select the head.

    Here's a screenshot of the partial list.

     

    If I click Expressions, I get your list.

    This is a partial screenshot of the error log I reported to DS.  I've highighted the missing expressions for this post.  Four of them appear to be duplicates.  I did not highlight them.

    I also only get the 5 that Nyghtfall listed. Aren't the ones that are listed as being missing from the optional Expressions package though?

    That's weird, those are not expressions from the Expression set. No idea where you got those and why Nyght and I don't have them.

    Ah, I didn't know there were two expression sets. So the five that Nyght and I have are the defaults that come with her after all...then yeah, I agree, that's pretty skimpy. I like turning dials, but that's quite a downgrade from what we used to get.

    Probably because V7 was done on a system that had the expansion pack installed...

    The expansion pack offers 23 expressions:

    Angry Shout
    Blow
    Confused
    Disgust
    Don't Peek
    Evil Grin
    Frown
    Grin
    Happy
    Kiss
    Pensive
    Sad
    Scared
    Sexy Pout
    Shock
    Shock II
    Smile
    Smile II
    Soft Blow
    Sulk
    Wink Left
    Wink Righ

    According to the error log, these are the expressions DS can't find:

    Triumph
    Silly
    Scream
    Rage
    Pain
    Happy
    Fear
    Glare
    Disgust
    Desire
    Bereft

    That tells me V7 is supposed to come with at least 15 expressions, without the expansion pack.

    Edited to add - it was the same with Generation 4, by the way: you had to dial your own expressions, or buy the expression packs ... and some you couldn't buy, they only came as a bonus with the Pro packs (M4 Expressions for example).

    SickleYield has posted the fourth part in her new YouTube series.  At one point in the video, she mentions that the default expressions for V7 are all red.  Default, meaning, no expansion packs needed.  They come with V7.

    I've attached two screenshots comparing mine and SickleYield's copies of V7's expressions.  Something is definitely wrong with my copy.

    Got an email from tech support this afternoon.  I was missing the Genesis 3 Female Expressions.

    Problem solved.

    Yeah I don't have those either and that's what I assumed the problem was. It was confusing for a little bit though, I was starting to wonder if you and I got defective figures somehow.  ;)

    My pleasure.  :)

    I bought G3F Expressions, G3M Expressions, and Michael 7.

    Now I have the latest versions of Vicky and Mike, and everything I need to make full use of them.  :)
