Dynamic Clothes on Genesis 3
in The Commons
I have been using dynamic clothing for quite some time, but have only recently begun using G3F. I noticed that my drapes fall right through Genesis 3 regardless of my collission settings. She is the only figure/prop that this occurs with. Is there seomthing unique about G3F I am missing that makes dynamic clothign impossible?

I don't know but it might have something to do with renamed bones and geometry groups in Genesis 3 but let one of the DAZ Studio modiling experts advise. It's be sort of a surprise if the SW that handles the dynamic clothing was searching for specific keywords in the models it was draped on.
That's a good theory, but it doesn't wash with the fact that I can make a primitive sphere out of thin air and it drape with that.
Oh even more bewildering: animated drapes work, but single frame fall through the figure. WHAT!
Well that's why I said it's best to wait for the DAZ Model experts. :-)
Did you buy the dynamic clthing plugin for I think it's 49.95? I see I have a basic dynamic clothing plugin in DAZ Studio 4.9 but haven't used it yet.
How do they differ?
Well it is not G3F specific as i have been using her and dynamic cloth for awhile now and don't have any issues with this.
This image uses both animated and single frame draping with both the top and shorts converted to dynamic with the new plugin at the other store on G3F and I had no problems.
Well I will wait for an expert to come and say what's going on. I would like to know difference between the basic & ppro dynamic cloth DAZ plugins too when they get here.
Sub d is likely the culprit; turn it off on G3; or the item you're using. Just to be contrary, you may need to add it or increase the count - less likely but possible.
Yes, I bought the Dynamic Control, which adds a lot of options, including clothing properties, which I have been testing in all manner to no avail.
Double and triple check the Collide with list...
You got it. Genesis 3 seems to have SubD at 3 by default. Once I put it down to 1 clothign draped normally again. I would have never imagined that woudl have an effect, as I thought that DCC used the base model without subdivision. Thanks for your help!
This is good to learn.
